For the Love of Serging

I am now in love with this new little machine and wonder how I ever made it without one. I love how it cuts down on your sewing time and creates wonderful and professional looking seams and hems. There is so much more that this little baby can do that I haven't even started to try, but for now I will love my new seams! If your wondering what all this fuss is about~take a look one of the seams in your shirt (that you bought at a store) see those beautiful seams? That my dear is the work of a serger. I can't wait to make start making better quality clothing for all your little CuddleBugs starting this Spring. For now I am playing with clothing for my girls to get used to this new way of sewing.

First Up We have Abby in the Ruffled Jumper with Ruffled Pants. This outfit is special to me because I was able to use some fabric leftover from my grandmother's stash.







Ciara was such a good sport waiting patiently with her dad in the car for her turn. Her mother is Stacy from CC's Bowtique and brought some VERY cute bows with her for the girls to Model. I love her sassiness with those bright pink boots!!
She has to sweetest smile...don't you think?

Ciara is modeling my Hearts Pillowcase Dress, I nestled two hearts in the applique and added an initial to the center.





Oh Sweet Brynn with this vintage inspired Peasant dress.I have been wanting to use this shabby chic romantic rose print for sometime~What better time to break it out than for Valentine's!

Cullum has the sweetest personality, he is going to grow up to be the perfect gentlemen.

I can't get over how the next two sisters look so much like one another. Riley and Emery were perfect for these outfits. One is my newest creation the Onesie dress that I added a heart to the bodice, and the other is my Cupid outfit~ I have some other shirt ideas with this fabric so these pants will be featured again!

Gracie is next, and she is rocking the Wild About U Pillowcase Dress with the Zebra Heart Applique and Mongram!

Our tinest little CuddleBug to come out to play was Gianna and did her shirt match her well. She is going to be a little Heartbreaker. I matched up the onesie with a Rocking Pink and Black Tutu which made this outfit way to cute!

Jacob is absolutely adorable with the Robot Applique Shirt. Take a look at this little Man with his hat on...Cuteness all the way!

Last but not least...

My two CuddleBugs, Gabie and Reese, the whole reason I even started making clothing were these two precious girls. Gabie is at this stage where she runs as soon as you pull out the camera, then there is Reese that smiles ALL the time. They are my precious little girls that I love dearly.

New Year...New Ideas

This year I wanted to start with some new ideas for CuddleBugs. I have many goals set for the company and have already accomplished one. Professional Photo Shoot~ It happened this past weekend and I can't wait to see all the pictures. I teamed up with Lindsay Renee Photography and CC's Bowtique for one amazing day. {Don't worry...I will post pics here a little later}

Next up I have been pondering a Monthly Club for Pillowcase Dresses and Applique Shirts. To help me work out the kinks and keep the costs affordable for everyone I will offer them in 3 month increments. How does this work...you ask? You sign up for 3 months and on the tenth of the month I will ship you a shirt or pillowcase dress for the following month with a holiday theme. If there happens to not be a holiday that month I will do a seasonal theme instead

Newest Addition: Onesie Dress

I first came across the onesie dress when I picked it up at a consignment shop here in town for my frst daughter and loved it, so convenient and so girly! I tried a few months ago to recreate one, and to be honest it was a BOMB!! So I ditched my efforts and vowed to not try again for awhile. A few weeks ago I had this idea to try it again with a girly monogram at the top and I found the perfect fabric for it! I love how it turned out and will offer these at my shop, I can custom them with any fabric or colors!!



Picture Perfect with Shutterfly

I love this time of year when I open up the mailbox and I open up Christmas cards with pictures of all my friends and family. It just brings a smile to my face, my two year old even appreciates it-as we opened up a picture of my cousins new baby, she says "That's adoorbell" (adorable in 2 year old language). I am not sure why people even bother with plain cards that they have to write in each one, honestly I find them boring. If you haven't been to Shutterfly yet, I don't know what you are waiting for. I have used them on countless occassions, and you should to!

I have made two photo books for gifts this year, this really cute calendar with pictures of all the grandkids for my parents, you can get your birth announcements done, I have done some adorable birthday invitations through them, who doesn't want canvas wall art of their children above the couch?? If you haven't guessed by now, I am a fan of Shutterfly. I haven't been unsatisfied with any item I have ever purchased through their site, and I am betting you won't be either.

I have been wandering around on their site and found something I am sure my little girl would love.

I also saw this little beauty that would be perfect for your child's first Christmas ornament

I could go on and on, but for your sake and mine I will stop bragging on this wonderful little site. They are my go-to for photo printing and I always find new ideas when I go.

Candle Makeover

In my opinion, the look a little "Christmasy" (if that's a word). This was my trial run to see if it would work, and it did. I know what to fix for the next ones, I am thinking maybe some gifts for others with a monogram on it...I don't know the possibilities are endless. So on to the how-to:

You will need: a sheet of vellum paper, printer, plain candle, Mod-Podge (I used gloss but matte may look better), scissors, paint/craft brush.

I used Microsoft Word to print out the words onto my Vellum paper and let completely dry before trying to Mod-Podge.

Then cut out the words, apply some Mod Podge to the candle, lay the cut-out onto it and lightly apply Mod-Podge over the cut-out. Being careful not to smudge the ink (as I did on the "Peace" candle).



Let dry and Viola! Can't wait to try this again with a monogram!
